About the role

Job Summary: We're excited to bring on a detail-oriented Tax Preparation Virtual Assistant to support the preparation of individual and small business tax returns. You will review client tax documents, enter information accurately into tax software, identify missing items, and prepare returns for final review before filing. The ideal candidate has prior U.S. tax preparation experience, communicates clearly when something looks off, and is comfortable researching tax questions independently. Key Responsibilities: Prepare individual (1040) and small business tax returns for final review before filing

  • Review incoming client tax documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Enter tax data accurately into Intuit Pro

Connect Tax Online

  • Identify and flag missing documents, forms, or information needed to complete a return
  • Prepare returns involving Schedule C businesses, S corporations (1120S), and K-1sHandle multi-state return preparation where applicable

Apply depreciation

  • s and basic bookkeeping concepts to return preparation
  • Research tax questions as they arise and escalate anything unclear
  • Communicate promptly when figures, documents, or client information do not look right
  • Maintain organized records and support the workflow through to final review
  • Mandatory Skills: Prior U.S. tax preparation experience
  • Working knowledge of individual (1040) and small business return preparation
  • Comfort reviewing tax documents and entering data with a high degree of accuracy
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping concepts
  • Ability to research tax questions and work through unfamiliar issues
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, especially in raising discrepancies early
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to established review processes
  • Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience with Intuit Pro
