Technical Business Analyst

Loanworks is looking for an experienced and highly detail-oriented Technical Business Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between business operations and technology, improving processes, solving complex problems, and delivering system enhancements that drive operational efficiency and service excellence.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with Australian stakeholders, business users, developers, and offshore delivery teams to identify business needs and deliver effective technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, analyse, and document business and functional

requirements

• Facilitate workshops, process walkthroughs, and stakeholder discussions
• Create user stories, business rules, acceptance criteria, and process maps
• Analyse lending, mortgage documentation, settlement, and post-settlement workflows
• Support client onboarding by documenting workflow, data, document, and integration

requirements

• Prepare functional specifications, workflow designs, and data mappings
• Investigate issues using SQL, Excel, system data, and process analysis
• Collaborate with developers and vendors to assess technical solutions
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
• Track defects, support releases, and validate implemented changes
• Develop user guides and process documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies
• Support incident management, change requests, and continuous improvement initiatives
• What We're Looking ForAt least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
• Experience within lending, loan servicing, settlement, conveyancing, financial services, or related industries
• Strong requirements gathering and business process mapping skills
• Experience supporting system enhancements, projects, or testing activities
• Basic SQL skills for data investigation and validation
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders Highly Regarded⭐ Experience supporting Australian lenders or settlement providers⭐ Exposure to Actionstep, PEXA, loan management systems, or similar platforms⭐ Knowledge of APIs, integrations, data mapping, LIXI standards, workflow automation, or document generation platforms⭐ Business Analysis certification and/or ITIL Foundation certification
