WFH Xero Bookkeeper (UK VAT Expertise)

Overview Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Xero Bookkeeper (UK VAT Expertise) to manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing UK hospitality business operating both a pub and hotel under one limited company. In this high-impact, part-time role, you will own the bookkeeping function, manage bank reconciliations across dual revenue streams, and ensure full UK VAT compliance. This position offers an ideal opportunity for an autonomous professional seeking a flexible, long-term remote role within a stable and scalable finance team. Schedule: Flexible 20 hours a week (Requires availability for weekly catch-ups within UK business hours)

Responsibilities

• Upload and process bills and invoices into Xero
• Complete bank reconciliations across accommodation and drink sales revenue streams
• Ensure accurate coding and categorization of all transactions
• Manage UK VAT compliance and submissions
• Maintain up-to-date financial records for both pub and hotel operations
• Participate in weekly catch-up meetings during UK business hours
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts
• Support month-end close processes

Requirements

• Proven bookkeeping experience with UK VAT knowledge
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software
• Strong understanding of UK VAT regulations and compliance
• Excellent communication skills for weekly team meetings
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup
• Nice-to-Have Requirements: Bonus if you have hospitality or multi-revenue stream bookkeeping experience
