The Qualifications We Seek
Essential
Qualifications
Relevant qualification or academic background in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field
- Strong willingness to learn and build a career in accounting
- Willingness to receive and apply feedback and direction
- Strong attention to detail, basic numeracy skills, and accurate data entry
- Ability to work calmly and reliably under supervision while managing routine deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow established processes and instructions
Preferred
Qualifications
- Prior experience in Australian accounting, bookkeeping, or administration, preferred but not essential
- Exposure to Xero or similar accounting software
- Interest in or exposure to strata or owners corporation management, property services, or insurance
Your Daily Tasks
Daily Accounting Support
- Assist with bank reconciliations for strata (owners corporation) scheme accounts and insurance/funding company accounts under supervision
- Enter and process supplier invoices and owner payments accurately according to established procedures
- Support the preparation of electronic payment runs for review by the Accountant
- Assist with basic accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including data entry and filing
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for client accounts
- Compliance & Reporting Support
- Assist with the collation and data entry of information for client compliance obligations, including BAS/IAS, superannuation, payroll tax, and Work
- Cover, under close supervision
- Support month-end and year-end tasks as directed, including filing, data checks, and document preparation
- Client & Internal Support
- Respond to straightforward and routine internal and external queries and escalate matters outside the role's scope to the Accountant
- Communicate professionally and courteously with strata managers, committees, and owners on straightforward and routine matters
- Systems & Learning
- Learn and apply the correct use of Xero and the internal Strata & Insurance system
- Seek feedback and apply guidance from the Accountant (Team Leader) and other team members to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Support general administrative and accounting tasks as directed
