About the role
As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and refining training programs that equip employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver high-quality service. Your ability to provide engaging training sessions, targeted learning interventions, and continuous coaching will contribute to improved performance outcomes across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build engaging e-learning courses, simulations, and microlearning using Articulate 360 and other emerging tools. Partner with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and create targeted, results-driven learning solutions. Develop realistic scenarios and branching paths that bring learning to life. Support live training, pilots, and train-the-trainer sessions to test and fine-tune learning innovations.1. Curriculum & Course Design
Design and develop comprehensive curricula, course outlines, and learning paths aligned with organizational goals, competency frameworks, and performance objectives. Apply evidence-based instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Backward Design, Action Mapping) to structure learning experiences from analysis through evaluation. Create detailed design documents, storyboards, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and assessment instruments. Design blended learning solutions that leverage the strengths of multiple delivery modalities (eLearning, ILT, VILT, microlearning, social learning). Develop measurable learning objectives using frameworks such as Bloom's Taxonomy and ensure alignment with business KPIs.2. Content Development & Delivery
Author interactive eLearning modules using rapid authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline/Rise). Produce multimedia learning assets including video scripts, motion graphics, infographics, simulations, and scenario-based activities. Write clear, concise, and engaging instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles and accessibility requirements Facilitate or co-facilitate training sessions as needed, both in-person and virtually, ensuring high-quality learner engagement. Develop assessment strategies - formative, summative, and performance-based to measure knowledge transfer and skill acquisition.3. Learning Needs Analysis
Conduct thorough training needs analyses (TNA) using interviews, surveys, focus groups, observation, and performance data to identify skill gaps and learning requirements. Analyse target audience demographics, prior knowledge, learning preferences, and environmental factors to inform instructional strategies. Collaborate with business leaders and HR to align learning initiatives with workforce planning, talent development, and succession strategies. Prioritize learning interventions based on business impact, urgency, and feasibility, presenting recommendations backed by data.4. Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract, validate, and organize technical content into instructionally sound learning materials. Manage stakeholder expectations, provide regular project updates, and incorporate feedback through iterative review cycles. Present design recommendations and project proposals to leadership, articulating the rationale, timeline, and expected outcomes.5. Learning Technology & Tools
Administer and manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including course uploads, enrolment, reporting, and troubleshooting. Evaluate, recommend, and implement new learning technologies, platforms, and tools that enhance the learner experience and operational efficiency. Ensure all digital learning content is optimized for multiple devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) and meets technical standards (SCORM, xAPI).6. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Implement the Kirkpatrick Model (or equivalent) to evaluate training effectiveness at reaction, learning, behaviour, and results levels. Collect, analyse, and report on learner feedback, completion rates, assessment scores, and business impact metrics to drive continuous improvement. Conduct regular content audits to ensure accuracy, relevance, branding consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and research in instructional design, adult learning theory, learning science, and educational technology. Establish and maintain style guides, templates, and quality standards for all training deliverables. Qualifications5+ years of instructional design, learning design, curriculum development, and L&D experience
Practical expertise in Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) or similar tools for digital learning design. Experience developing technical or systems training. Passion for leveraging automation, AI, and modern tech to push learning boundaries. Sharp attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong creative instincts.A collaborative spirit, comfortable brainstorming with SMEs, tech teams, and leaders alike. Experience in a corporate or fast-paced environment is preferred
