Summary of Role

Anthesis’ Sustainable Products, Packaging and Circularity (SPPC) team is looking for a sustainability data analyst to provide the data, calculations, analyses and associated consultancy which underpins our clients’ sustainability activity and ambitions across our services.

You will do data analytics and visualisation with the SPPC team, working directly with both internal and external clients as part of a series of project teams, often as the primary data analyst, responsible for synthesising large and complex data sets predominately relating to products, packaging and waste.

This is a delivery and project management role engaging directly with the market to support major sustainability project delivery for our clients. It will involve collaborating with global Anthesis sustainability experts, our digital team, and with other Technical Consultants not only to deliver great projects but also to contribute in developing new innovative ways of supporting our clients on their sustainability journeys.

The work will support a mixture of clients, large and small, across a variety of sectors including retail, apparel and FMCG.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed calculations to identify material flows, products, packaging, & waste footprints.
• Create dashboards and standardised reporting templates to support clients in automating their data collection and reporting processes
• Create compelling data visualisation to support clients to understand & communicate their data
• Undertake technical research and results distribution
• Undertake responsibility for best practice quality assurance
• Attend client meetings, where necessary, for project delivery and to develop opportunities

This role has potential to lead with other responsibilities as follows:

• Contribute in business development activities including proposal writing in collaboration with the existing team
• Harmonise our teams’ approach to data management; manage resourcing and provide skill-sharing and training programs where required
• Establish future proof processes and identifying opportunities to expand our digital offering
• Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

Key Requirements

• Advanced MS Excel (Power Query, Lookup formulas, IF statements, Pivot tables etc) is required
• Alteryx, PowerBI or Tableau experience is advantageous, not mandatory
• SQL experience
• 1st class or 2:1 Bachelors/Master’s degree in STEM or digital-focused subjects

• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong time management and organisational skills with clarity on need for prioritisation
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Proactive and confidence to use own initiative
• Technology- Excellent analytical skills applying various analytical software. We would expect advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and experience in using other analytics software and visualisation tools will be beneficial.
