The Accountant plays a key role in overseeing the financial operations of the organisation and supporting strategic decision-making. This senior-level position is responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations (both local and international), and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. The role requires a proactive finance professional with a strong understanding of accounting standards, tax compliance, payroll, and financial systems, preferably within the aged care, healthcare, or disability sector. Duties: The Accountant's duties include but are not limited to: Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. Maintain accurate AP records and lead monthly reconciliations. Develop and manage payment

s in alignment with cash flow forecasts. Resolve vendor disputes and discrepancies in collaboration with procurement and operations teams. Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage the full AR cycle, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation. Monitor outstanding receivables and proactively follow up on overdue accounts. Prepare and analyze AR aging reports and recommend actions for improved collections. Liaise with internal teams and clients to resolve billing issues promptly. Payroll Management: Supervise the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Philippine labor laws, and timely remittance of statutory obligations. Ensure alignment of payroll with internal policies, including benefits, deductions, and leave accruals. Prepare and file payroll-related tax returns and maintain all payroll records securely. Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies between accounting and bank records. Monitor daily cash positions and provide regular updates on cash flow performance. Support the Head of Accounts in managing liquidity and identifying funding requirements. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS). Generate management reports and financial dashboards highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide insightful financial analysis to support operational and strategic planning. Taxation: Ensure full compliance with local tax laws and regulatory filings, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax. Prepare and lodge all required filings with BIR, SEC, and DOLE.Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and tax agents during audits and reviews. Keep abreast of updates in tax regulations and accounting standards. Compliance with Philippine Laws and Standards: Ensure compliance with Philippine accounting standards (PFRS) and the Philippine Tax Code. Prepare all necessary filings required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). International Accounting Experience (Advantageous): Experience in managing accounting tasks for international or Australian companies, including handling multi-currency transactions, financial consolidation, and ensuring compliance with international accounting standards (such as IFRS) is a plus. Knowledge of Australian accounting systems, including Xero, MYOB, or other similar platforms, is an advantage. Other Duties: Assist in year-end audit preparation and coordinate with auditors. Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation. Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities. Handle ad-hoc financial projects as required by management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, with preference for experience in healthcare, aged care, or disability services. Strong understanding of Philippine accounting and tax regulations. Proficient in financial software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar platforms). Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting (preferred). High attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.CPA qualification (preferred but not mandatory). Knowledge of aged care and disability funding models is a plus.
