Virtual Assistant - Dashboard Manager (English/Mandarin/Cantonese Speaking)

As Dashboard Manager, you'll look after the restaurant data that clients send in through their dashboards and make sure it can be trusted. Our website will be fully multilingual, so a big part of the job is proofreading and quality-checking Chinese-language content. It needs to read naturally and accurately to local diners in Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) and Simplified Chinese (Mandarin). You'll also check each listing against the restaurant's Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, Open

Rice, and other public sources, and fix what's wrong.

Key responsibilities

Key

Responsibilities

Proofread and edit: review all traditional and simplified Chinese content on the site, including listings, menus, descriptions, reviews and page text. Check grammar, spelling, character accuracy, punctuation and tone. Localise: make sure Hong Kong content uses local terms and, where suitable, colloquial written Cantonese, and that Mandarin content suits Mainland readers. Watch for Traditional/Simplified character mix-ups and awkward machine translation. Translate: translate and adapt content between English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chi nese. Keep content consistent: maintain a multilingual glossary and style guide covering restaurant names, dishes, districts and cuisine terms. Verify businesses: confirm each restaurant is real and currently operating. Check its social media, address, opening hours, contact details and business registration where available. Check descriptions: make sure cuisine, price range, and menu highlights match what the restaurant actually offers. Clean and standardise data: fix duplicates, formatting errors, missing fields and inconsistent naming, including English and Chinese restaurant names and Hong Kong addresses. Research and collect data: gather and organise restaurant data from public online sources into our database or spreadsheets. Flag fraud and risk: escalate fake listings, suspicious reviews, closed businesses and copied content. Report: send daily and weekly updates on your output, the issues you found and any recurring data problems

Requirements

• Native or near-native Cantonese, with excellent written Traditional Chinese
• Fluent Mandarin, with excellent written Simplified Chinese
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1 or above)
• Proven proofreading or editing experience in Chinese
• Sharp eye for detail, including character-level errors and tone
• Comfortable with Google Sheets or Excel, and with researching on social media
• Reliable home internet (at least 25 Mbps), a backup connection, and a quiet workspace
• Able to work independently with little supervision

Strongly Preferred

Has lived, worked, or studied in Hong Kong, and knows its districts, dining culture, and local sources such as Open

Rice

• Background as an executive assistant, teacher (especially a language teacher), or translator
• Experience with data entry, content moderation, data scraping or cleaning tools, or a CMSInterest in food and restaurants

Experience working in a BPO environment is an advantage.
