About the role
HR Assistant
The HR Assistant is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll while providing administrative support for various HR functions. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, and a solid understanding of payroll processes and employee records. The HR Assistant must be proficient in payroll software/payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, and must be able to handle sensitive payroll information accurately and confidentially. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing
Process regular payroll accurately and on schedule, including salaries, overtime, allowances, incentives, deductions, and other employee payments. Review and verify attendance, timesheets, leave, overtime, and other payroll inputs. Process statutory contributions, tax deductions, loans, advances, and other authorized deductions. Review and reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized. Prepare payroll summaries, reports, and supporting documents for management and Accounting/Finance. Respond to employee inquiries regarding salaries, deductions, payroll adjustments, and other payroll-related concerns.HR Administration
Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding. Maintain and update personnel files and employee records. Prepare employment documents, HR forms, certificates, and correspondence. Maintain attendance, leave, and personnel records. Support recruitment activities, including interview scheduling and pre-employment requirements. Assist with employee benefits administration and other HR-related activities. Prepare HR reports and provide general administrative support to the HR department.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing using payroll software/payroll systems, preferably with HR administration experience. Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, calculations, deductions, and employee compensation. Strong to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with Accounting, Finance, and employees.
