Full job description

We’re hiring a skilled Insurance Bookkeeper to manage premium payments, direct bill entries, commission tracking, payroll logs, and financial reconciliation using Applied EPIC. This role requires precision, accountability, and deep familiarity with the insurance billing lifecycle. You'll work with both agency and direct bill processes, support financial reporting, and help maintain clean, audit-ready records.

Responsibilities

• Record premium payments for agency bill transactions
• Process direct bill commissions and associated transactions
• Perform regular bank, direct bill, and premium payable reconciliations
• Clean up and reconcile past accounts and legacy transactions
• Log producer commission receipts and generate reports
• Track payroll entries directly within Applied EPIC
• Record and reconcile operating expenses
• Support month-end close with forecasting and financial summaries

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience (insurance industry preferred)
• Familiar with insurance billing workflows (Agency Bill and Direct Bill)
• Strong working knowledge of Applied EPIC software
• Accurate and detail-oriented with reconciliation and reporting
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and documentation skills
