IT Support Specialist

The Manila Times Publishing Corporation is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our growing technology team. This is a full-time position based in Metro Manila, offering the opportunity to provide essential technical support and maintain our network and systems infrastructure. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our organization's IT systems operate smoothly, supporting both end-users and our broader business operations. Your contributions will directly impact the productivity and efficiency of our publishing operations. What you'll be doing

• Providing first and second-level technical support to end-users, responding to IT support requests via helpdesk systems, email and telephone
• Troubleshooting hardware, software and network connectivity issues to resolve user problems efficiently
• Installing, configuring and maintaining computer hardware, peripherals and software applications
• Managing user accounts, access permissions and authentication systems across the network
• Performing regular system monitoring, maintenance and updates to ensure optimal network performance
• Documenting IT issues, resolutions and user interactions in support ticketing systems
• Assisting with data backup procedures and disaster recovery preparations
• Providing technical training and guidance to staff on IT systems and best practices
• Collaborating with senior IT staff on network infrastructure improvements and security enhancements
• Supporting the setup and management of office equipment including printers, computers and communication devices

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in IT support or technical support roles, preferably in a corporate or publishing environment
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for data protection
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to respond to urgent IT issues and provide on-call support when required
• Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools is advantageous
