The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a work-from-home contractor role based in Davao, Philippines, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and has strong experience managing projects, priorities, and operational initiatives in addition to core accounting responsibilities.

As a Senior Accountant at Elder Care Homecare, you will play a critical role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Beyond day-to-day accounting, this role requires someone who can confidently manage strategic projects, improve workflows, coordinate across departments, and help drive operational excellence as the company continues to scale.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and structured thinker with strong accounting expertise, exceptional project management abilities, excellent attention to detail, and deep familiarity with NetSuite and U.S. GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update accounting records and financial files
• Handle end-to-end transactional accounting including AR, AP, and journal entries
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
• Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare variance analysis against budget, month-over-month, and year-to-date reporting
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits
• Advise internal stakeholders on financial matters via email and meetings
• Recommend accounting policies and business best practices
• Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations while overseeing strategic projects and competing priorities
• Lead and support operational process improvements and workflow optimization initiatives
• Support evaluation, testing, and implementation of AI and agentic workflows
• Coordinate cross-functional projects and ensure timely execution of deliverables
• Serve as an internal subject matter expert on NetSuite

Qualifications

• CPA required with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within a multi-entity or multi-subsidiary environment
• Strong project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and operational initiatives simultaneously
• Proven experience leading or supporting strategic projects, process improvements, or systems implementations
• 3+ years of NetSuite experience required
• Strong proficiency in:
• End-to-end accounting transactions
• Fixed Asset Management (FAM)
• Match bank data
• Intercompany transactions
• Customizing searches and reports
• NetSuite Financial User and/or Administrator certification strongly preferred
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of accounting information systems, APIs, and data structures is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex accounting topics to non-financial team members
• Forward-thinking mindset regarding AI and operational efficiency
• Strong business acumen and sound judgment
• Prior managerial experience preferred
• Demonstrates empathy while maintaining objectivity
• Previous experience working with a U.S. East Coast company is a major plus
