Job Cost Accountant (Real Estate Company | US GAAP | HMO Day 1)

The Job Cost Accountant oversees day-to-day financial management across all ongoing projects. Key responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, tracking real estate financials, and delivering regular property-level reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Code, route, sort, and electronically file invoices and loan draw packets
• Research vendor statements and historical payment records
• Execute routine data entry, financial tracking, and reconciliation using standard accounting practices
• Process and track change orders for vendors, subcontractors, and consultants
• Assist the Job Cost Manager with operational procedures, controls, and reporting

requirements

• Complete month-end close, bank reconciliations, and financial statement analysis for assigned projects
• Generate budget variance reports and historical/YTD performance comparisons
• Independently resolve routine operational issues and manage special projects

About you

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field2+ years of experience in construction or real estate accounting/financial management (Sage 300 CRE/Timberline, GCPay, or Procore preferred)

• High attention to detail with an outgoing, proactive mindset
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across digital tools (Zoom, Teams, chat)
• Fiber Optic internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps bandwidth)
• Dedicated backup desktop or laptop running a current operating system
