Senior Software Quality Engineer Kompas Inc. | Full-Time | Remote (EST hours)

We're looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the Kompas platform as we scale. You'll design and execute test strategies across the full development lifecycle, build out our automation framework, and partner closely with engineering to catch issues early — not just at the finish line. This is a hands-on senior role: you'll write tests, not just plans, and you'll help set the bar for quality practices across the team. Key responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies spanning functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing
• Build, maintain, and expand our automated test suite using test automation frameworks and tools
• Own quality for key product areas — e.g., accounting/ledger workflows, tenant portals, payment processing
• Identify and triage defects early through close collaboration with engineering and product
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve test coverage, speed up test authoring, and sharpen defect detection
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline quality gates in partnership with DevOps/engineeringAbout you
• Proven experience in software quality engineering or QA, including manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools

Experience testing web applications with complex business logic (financial calculations, multi-tenant data, or similarly compliance-sensitive workflows a strong plus)

• Solid understanding of QA/QE methodologies across the full SDLCStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to trace issues back to root cause
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design
• Must be available and responsive during EST/EDT core business hours
• Experience in proptech, fintech, or another domain involving complex financial or compliance-sensitive workflows (nice-to-have)
• Prior experience building a QA function or automation framework from the ground up (nice-to-have)
