About the role
As a Content Marketing Intern , you will help PayMongo create useful, discoverable content that makes payments and financial technology easier for Philippine businesses to understand.
PayMongo’s ambition to become the default Financial OS requires more than great products—it requires clear narratives that help merchants understand the problems we solve and find us when they are looking for solutions. You will support the team in developing content around payment infrastructure, financial operations, merchant growth, and PayMongo’s products and capabilities .
This internship is designed for a student who enjoys researching, writing, simplifying complex ideas, and understanding what makes digital content useful and discoverable . You will gain hands-on exposure to content marketing, SEO, product storytelling, and go-to-market communications while contributing to content that reaches real merchants and businesses.
What You Will Do Create Useful, Merchant-Focused Content
You will support the development of content that helps PayMongo build authority around payments, financial operations, and merchant growth.
You Will
- Research and draft content for PayMongo’s website, blog, guides, and other digital channels.
- Help turn complex topics into clear, useful, and engaging content for merchants .
- Support content development around payments, QRPh, financial operations, merchant growth, and other relevant topics.
- Assist in maintaining consistency in PayMongo’s messaging, tone, and narrative across content.
- Research industry developments, merchant pain points, and frequently asked questions to identify useful content opportunities.
- Work with editors and other team members to improve drafts based on feedback.
Learn & Apply SEO Fundamentals
You will gain practical experience in how content helps businesses become more discoverable through organic search.
You Will
- Conduct basic keyword and search-intent research for merchant and business topics.
- Support the creation and optimization of content around priority search terms.
- Learn how headlines, structure, internal linking, metadata, and search intent affect content discoverability.
- Assist in updating existing content to improve relevance and organic performance.
- Research topics relevant to audiences such as marketplace sellers, F&B operators, clinics, and developers .
- Learn how organic traffic connects to business outcomes such as merchant signups and product adoption.
Support Product & Go-to-Market Content
You will help translate PayMongo’s products and capabilities into content that merchants can easily understand.
You Will
- Support the creation of product explainers, launch content, use cases, and educational materials .
- Research and draft content that explains products such as Wallet, Capital, and BaaS in terms of the business problems they solve.
- Help create merchant stories and case studies that demonstrate how PayMongo products are used in real-world situations.
- Assist with content for product launches and campaigns.
- Support the development of sales and marketing materials such as guides, presentations, and vertical-specific content.
- Learn how product features are translated into merchant outcomes and value propositions .
Support Content for External Channels
You will learn how a core idea or narrative can be adapted for different audiences and distribution channels.
You Will
- Help adapt PayMongo content into formats that can be used by partners, creators, PR, and other external channels .
- Research relevant industry conversations and merchant-community topics.
- Assist in developing briefs and supporting materials for externally distributed content.
- Help ensure that externally distributed content remains clear and consistent with PayMongo’s core narrative.
- Learn how strong foundational content can be repurposed and amplified across multiple channels.
Learn from Content Performance
You will gain exposure to how marketers determine whether content is actually working.
You Will
- Help monitor basic content metrics such as organic traffic, search rankings, time on page, engagement, and conversions .
- Assist in maintaining content and editorial trackers.
- Learn how teams evaluate which topics and content formats are generating meaningful engagement.
- Identify opportunities to update or improve existing content based on performance.
- Develop an understanding of how content can contribute to merchant acquisition, trust, product adoption, and pipeline , rather than simply generating page views.

You do not need prior experience with every tool. What matters is your ability to research effectively, write clearly, learn new tools quickly, and understand the purpose behind the content you create .
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a student who is interested in the intersection of writing, technology, marketing, and business .
You Should Bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, English, Business, Digital Media , or another relevant program.
- Strong written English and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and logically.
- Good research skills and curiosity about unfamiliar subjects.
- Ability to take complicated information and make it easier for an audience to understand.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in writing, grammar, structure, and fact-checking.
- Openness to editing and constructive feedback.
- Interest in learning about SEO, content marketing, product marketing, and digital acquisition .
- Curiosity about fintech, technology, payments, or how businesses operate.
- Ability to manage assigned deliverables and meet agreed timelines.
- Willing to render a minimum of 480 internship hours (we are open to extend longer if more than 480 hours is required by your academic institution)
Nice to Have
Experience or exposure in the following would be helpful, but is not required :
- Writing for a student publication, organization, blog, brand, or digital platform.
- SEO or keyword research.
- Copywriting or content marketing.
- Social media or digital marketing.
- Research-heavy academic or extracurricular writing.
- Technology, fintech, SaaS, e-commerce, or business-related content.
- Basic familiarity with website analytics or content-management systems.
Writing samples would be particularly helpful. These can include academic work, articles, blog posts, organization content, personal projects, or other pieces that demonstrate your ability to research and communicate ideas clearly .

Success in this internship is about learning quickly, producing increasingly strong work, and understanding how content contributes to real business outcomes .
By the end of the internship, we would expect you to have:
- Contributed to published content across PayMongo’s digital channels.
- Improved your ability to research, structure, write, and edit content for a specific audience and purpose .
- Developed a practical understanding of SEO and search intent.
- Learned how to translate complex financial or technical concepts into merchant-friendly language.
- Contributed to product explainers, educational content, or go-to-market materials.
- Developed greater confidence interpreting basic content-performance data.
- Demonstrated reliability in managing assignments, responding to feedback, and meeting deadlines.
- Built stronger writing samples that demonstrate both content quality and strategic purpose .
You will be working closely with the Content Lead who is ultimately accountable for making content a measurable driver of organic acquisition, MAU, pipeline, and trust . As an intern, you will learn how individual pieces of content contribute to those outcomes without being expected to independently own the strategy or its business KPIs.
Team & Collaboration
You will work with PayMongo’s Marketing team and gain exposure to how Content collaborates with functions such as Product Marketing, Growth, Creator Partnerships, PR, and Sales to support product and go-to-market priorities. The full-time function connects editorial strategy, SEO, product narratives, and external distribution into a broader content system.
Throughout the internship, you will receive guidance and feedback as you develop your writing and marketing skills. The goal is to give you meaningful experience creating content that is clear, useful, discoverable, and connected to what merchants actually need—not content created simply for the sake of publishing .
