About the Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Python Engineer to join a growing product and engineering team developing software for industrial and manufacturing businesses. This is a hands-on role with strong end-to-end SDLC ownership, covering requirements, development, testing, deployment and production support across frontend, backend, databases and cloud. You will work closely with Australian technical and product leadership in a distributed engineering environment. We are looking for someone who is analytical, practical, proactive and accountable, with strong business and product awareness. You should be curious, take initiative, ask questions and be willing to learn unfamiliar technologies and come up to speed quickly when required. You do not need to be an AI/ML specialist, but you should have a foundation in data science and an interest in applying AI and data-driven technologies to real-world products.

Key Responsibilities

Own features across the full SDLC, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment and production support. Build and maintain applications using React, Next.js and TypeScript. Develop backend services and APIs using Python. Work with databases and integrate internal and external services. Develop and support applications on AWS, including cloud deployment and CI/CD.Contribute to architecture, testing, code reviews and production support. Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and problem solving. Apply data science fundamentals and progressively contribute to AI, LLM and AI-agent capabilities. Work with product and technical leadership to turn business requirements into practical solutions. Essential Experience5+ years professional software engineering experience.3+ years of hands-on Full Stack development experience, including end-to-end ownership of applications or building applications from scratch. Strong React, Next.js and TypeScript experience. Strong Python development experience. Production experience with APIs, databases and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.Experience with testing, Git and modern software development practices. Good understanding of software architecture and the full SDLC.Foundation in data science, including data analysis, data processing, statistics or machine learning fundamentals. Experience using AI-assisted development tools or demonstrated ability to effectively use AI to support software development and problem solving. Strong ownership, analytical and problem-solving skills. Proactive, curious and willing to learn quickly and adapt to unfamiliar technologies.
