AU Intermediate Bookkeeper

Intermediate Bookkeeper (Australian Accounting Experience) | Remote | Full-Time

We're looking for an Australian Intermediate Bookkeeper who is ready to take ownership of the end-to-end bookkeeping process and become a trusted partner to our Australian clients. This role goes beyond simple data entry. You'll play a critical part in maintaining the financial health of small and medium-sized businesses by delivering accurate, timely, and reliable bookkeeping services.

About the Role

As an intermediate bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities and ensuring clients' financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant.

Master of the Ledger

Take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of Australian clients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Responsibilities include

• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
• Transaction coding and data integrity
• Month-end bookkeeping tasks
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation

Champion of Payroll & Compliance

Support Australian businesses by ensuring payroll and compliance obligations are managed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities include

• Processing payroll and maintaining employee records
• Managing superannuation and employee entitlements
• Assisting with BAS/IAS preparation and supporting compliance requirements
• Applying GST treatment correctly across transactions

Cloud Accounting Expert

Leverage modern cloud-based accounting solutions to streamline processes and deliver valuable financial insights. You'll work with:

• Xero
• Hubdoc
• Dext
• Xero Practice Manager
• Other cloud-based accounting and practice management tools

Drive Operational Excellence

Maintain exceptional accuracy while managing multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.

What You'll Bring

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience
• Experience working with Australian accounting or bookkeeping firms
• Proven experience managing multiple clients or entities

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Xero
• Solid understanding of:
• GST
• Payroll processing
• Superannuation
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Bank reconciliations
• BAS/IAS support

Professional Attributes
