DIALYSIS NURSE

Diacare Dialysis Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dialysis Nurse to join our nursing team in Kasambagan, Cebu City. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in delivering high-quality renal care to our patients. As a Dialysis Nurse, you will be responsible for the direct care and monitoring of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes. This position is essential to our commitment to providing excellent healthcare services to patients with end-stage renal disease.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and initiate dialysis equipment and machinery in accordance with established protocols and safety standards
• Assess and monitor patient vital signs, weight, fluid status and overall clinical condition before, during and after dialysis treatment
• Cannulate patients' vascular access (fistulas, grafts or catheters) using sterile techniques to prevent infection and complications
• Administer prescribed medications and anticoagulation therapy as directed by nephrologists and treatment protocols
• Monitor and record dialysis parameters, fluid removal rates, ultrafiltration and other relevant treatment variables
• Observe patients for complications such as hypotension, muscle cramps, nausea and vomiting during treatment, taking appropriate interventions
• Provide patient education regarding diet, fluid restrictions, medication management and self-care strategies for renal disease management
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all observations, treatments and interventions in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including nephrologists, social workers and nutritionists to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Ensure adherence to infection control, sterilization and waste management procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment
• Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and promoting psychological wellbeing

What we're looking for

Current valid Nursing License recognized in the Philippines with good standing status

With or without experience in dialysis, as long as willing to undergo training. Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment operation, vascular access management and hemodialysis principles

• Proficiency in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring and recognition of acute complications
• Excellent clinical skills with demonstrated competency in cannulation and aseptic technique
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment whilst maintaining composure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact sensitively with patients and families
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary nursing and medical team
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods whilst providing patient care
• Must have updated ACLS & BLS certificates. Commitment to continuing professional development and staying current with evidence-based nursing practices
