Full job description

We are looking for a hands-on and driven DevOps Engineer to help scale, secure, and optimize our Kubernetes-based production platform.

Nearly all of our applications run on Kubernetes, primarily on our managed on-premises Kubernetes platform and Amazon EKS. This role is critical to ensuring system reliability, operational excellence, security, and continuous improvement across our cloud-native infrastructure.

You will work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to manage production workloads, improve automation, strengthen security practices, and enhance CI/CD pipelines. If you enjoy owning production infrastructure end-to-end and solving complex operational challenges, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities Kubernetes & Container Platform Management

• Operate, maintain, and optimize production workloads running on Kubernetes (managed on-premises clusters and Amazon EKS).
• Deploy, upgrade, and manage applications using Helm or similar package management tools.
• Troubleshoot cluster-level and application-level issues, including networking, storage, scaling, and resource constraints.
• Implement Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, namespace isolation, and workload security.
• Optimize resource utilization and configure autoscaling for production workloads.

Cloud & Infrastructure Management

• Manage and support AWS infrastructure, including Amazon EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, networking, and security groups.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or AWS Cloud

Formation.

• Participate in infrastructure architecture discussions, design reviews, and capacity planning initiatives.

System Reliability, Security & Production Support

• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability across production environments.
• Participate in a structured on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Respond to production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive improvements.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews focused on continuous improvement and long-term resilience.
• Monitor and remediate infrastructure, container image, and dependency vulnerabilities.
• Perform timely upgrades of base images, Helm charts, operating system packages, and third-party libraries.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve security vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs) identified in code repositories.
• Continuously strengthen the security posture of infrastructure and containerized environments.

CI/CD, Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.
• Automate build, testing, and deployment processes for Kubernetes environments.
• Improve release processes to minimize deployment risks and downtime.
• Develop automation using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible, Bash, and Python to reduce manual operational tasks.
• Promote DevOps culture, automation, and cloud-native best practices across engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Engineering.
• Hands-on experience managing production workloads in Kubernetes.
• Experience administering and supporting Amazon EKS.
• Experience deploying and managing applications using Helm or similar package management tools.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation processes.
• Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and operational support skills.
• Willingness to participate in a structured production on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is a plus

• Managing multi-environment Kubernetes clusters (Development, Staging, and Production).
• Implementing Kubernetes autoscaling solutions (Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, Cluster Autoscaler).
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS Cloud

Formation.

• Monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Graylog.
• Kubernetes networking concepts, including Ingress, Services, and CNI plugins.
• Production monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• AWS certifications such as the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent cloud certifications.
