Desktop Application Developer

Ascendion is seeking a talented Desktop Application Developer to join our growing team in Makati City, Metro Manila. Key responsibilities

• Design and develop desktop applications using modern programming languages and frameworks
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices and coding standards
• Collaborate with business analysts, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and working solutions
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and consistency
• Test and debug applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience
• Maintain and update existing desktop applications, implementing enhancements and patches as required
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide technical support to end users when necessary
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to desktop application development

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

Minimum 2 years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on native Windows desktop development. Proven experience developing desktop applications using languages such as C#, C++, Java, or Python

• Strong knowledge of desktop application frameworks and libraries relevant to your chosen technology stack
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
• Experience with version control systems, particularly GitProficiency in using integrated development environments (IDEs) and debugging tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Experience with relational databases and SQL is advantageous
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred
• Experience with UI/UX frameworks or developing user-friendly interfaces is a plus
