About the role
The Finance Director will lead the overall financial management of Workscale Resources Inc., covering financial reporting, treasury, cash flow, taxation, compliance, budgeting, profitability, banking, credit facilities, collections, internal controls, and financial planning. The role will serve as the CEO’s primary finance partner, providing reliable financial information, identifying risks early, improving profitability and working capital, and ensuring strong financial controls and regulatory compliance while supporting continued business growth. Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership & Strategy
Serve as the principal finance adviser to the CEO and Management Team. Develop financial plans, forecasts, budgets, and scenarios aligned with company growth objectives. Provide financial analysis for major business decisions, investments, pricing, client contracts, expansion, and financing. Establish and monitor financial KPIs and management dashboards. Treasury & Cash Flow
Maintain short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts, including a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast. Ensure sufficient funding for payroll, statutory obligations, suppliers, and operating requirements. Optimize utilization of credit lines, loans, and other working-capital facilities. Manage relationships with banks and financing partners and recommend appropriate funding structures. Accounting & Financial Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead month-end and year-end closing and ensure proper reconciliation of bank accounts, receivables, payables, payroll, loans, taxes, and other balance-sheet accounts. Maintain accounting policies and controls consistent with applicable accounting standards. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
Oversee all BIR registrations, filings, payments, reconciliations, and tax reporting. Develop legitimate and compliant tax-planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. Manage BIR audits, Letters of Authority, assessments, tax exposures, and related documentation. Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal counsel when necessary, and ensure timely remittance and reconciliation of statutory obligations. Accounts Receivable & Collections
Oversee AR aging, collection performance, and client credit exposure. Establish collection targets, escalation procedures, and credit-control policies. Work with Operations and Business Development to manage financially risky or overdue accounts. Monitor Days Sales Outstanding and recommend actions to improve working capital. Profitability & Commercial Finance
Evaluate profitability by client, project, service line, and business unit. Review pricing proposals and ensure sufficient margins considering payroll, statutory costs, overhead, financing costs, taxes, and risk. Identify unprofitable accounts and recommend corrective actions. Support Business Development in financial modeling and commercial negotiations. Internal Controls & Risk Management
Establish strong controls over payments, disbursements, banking, payroll, advances, reimbursements, and purchasing. Maintain proper segregation of duties and maker-checker-approver processes. Identify financial, compliance, fraud, and operational risks and recommend mitigating controls. Develop and maintain Finance policies, SOPs, approval matrices, and documentation standards. Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop the Finance & Accounting team. Establish clear responsibilities, performance standards, and accountability. Improve processes and reduce dependence on manual or person-dependent workflows. Build succession plans and strengthen Finance capability as the company grows. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.CPA strongly preferred; MBA, CFA, or other relevant postgraduate/professional qualification is an advantage. Ideally 10+ years of progressive Finance and Accounting experience, with significant management responsibility. Strong background in financial accounting and reporting, treasury and cash flow management, Philippine taxation/BIR compliance, budgeting and FP&A, AR/collections, banking and credit facilities, internal controls, audit, and risk management. Experience in a manpower, staffing, outsourcing, service, or payroll-intensive business is highly preferred. Proven ability to communicate financial issues clearly to senior management and shareholders. Willing to work on-site (Quezon Ave., Brgy South Triangle, Quezon City)
