RPG/Synon Developer in Taguig (hybrid - AU shift)

We are seeking a talented and experienced Synon Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications using Synon/2E. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG programming and a solid understanding of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems. You will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing technical solutions, and ensuring the quality and performance of the applications.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain applications using Synon/2E (CA 2E) on IBM iSeries (AS/400). Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to gather and analyze requirements. Create technical designs and documentation based on business requirements. Develop and modify RPG programs to support Synon/2E applications. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs. Provide effective BAU (Business-as-Usual) support, ensuring timely resolution of business queries, incidents, and operational issues while maintaining high service standards. Optimize application performance and ensure system reliability. Maintain and enhance existing applications to meet changing business needs. Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers and other team members.

About you

Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Synon/2E development. Proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, and CL programming languages. Strong understanding of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems and architecture. Strong troubleshooting skills related to IBM iSeries system performances and issues. Experience with SQL and DB2 databases. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
