About the role
The Socials & Community Coordinator will be responsible for bringing our brand to life across social channels, combining strong editorial judgment with hands-on content creation. This role requires someone who can both write exceptionally well and create engaging social content—from the first idea through to publishing and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
Content Creation & Editing
- Film and edit videos for socials whether for paid or organic posting: 3–4 short-form pieces per week (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
- Create and edit static, carousel, and other social-first content across a range of formats and objectives, including trend-driven, educational, informational, product-focused or promotional
- Stay on top of emerging social trends and quickly turn relevant opportunities into content, creating simple statics in Canva, repurposing existing content from the asset bank, or coordinating with the design team to execute more design-heavy assets
- Develop recurring and community-focused content to maintain consistent engagement on the Instagram Broadcast Channel and Facebook Group
- Research and develop creative content concepts and briefs for UGC creators, providing clear direction for lifestyle, recipe, informational, product demonstration, product highlight, and campaign-focused content for socials, Amazon, Walmart, and other relevant channels
- Repurpose and adapt existing brand assets into new content opportunities, maximizing the use of existing photo, video, UGC, and campaign assets across platforms and formats while keeping the content fresh and platform-appropriate
- Manage the end-to-end content production process, from concept development and asset coordination through filming, editing, revisions, and final delivery, ensuring content meets brand, platform, and campaign requirements
Copywriting
- Proofread, copy-edit, and platform-optimize outbound social copy before publication, including captions, on-screen text, replies, bios, link-in-bio copy, highlight covers, CTAs, and other social-facing copy
- Research, develop, and produce audio-visual scripts for short- and long-form video content, covering informational, recipe, educational, product, demonstration, and brand storytelling topics
- Own and maintain the social style sheet, including house spellings, product naming, capitalization, punctuation conventions, terminology, preferred language, and words or phrases to avoid.
Publishing
- Schedule and publish organic content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube (Shorts and long-form), Facebook and Pinterest using Later.com
- Apply UTM tags and keep link-in-bio and destination links correct and live
- Verify every asset is approved before it goes out. Draft is not approved — nothing from Drive or Figma publishes without a co-lead's sign-off
Community Management
- Monitor and triage comments, DMs and tags across all channels. First response within 24 hours on weekdays, in the brand voice, correctly written
- Route the rest: customer service issues to CS, product quality to Ops and Quality, wholesale and bulk enquiries to the B2B side, press to Brand
- Log recurring questions, complaints and product feedback weekly and surface them to both co-leads
Calendar and Asset Management
- Keep the content calendar current — dates, owners, statuses, captions, assets attached
- Flag calendar collisions early: two launches in one week, a promo
schedule
d against an out-of-stock SKU, a campaign date that moved and nobody told social
- Provide support in organizing incoming photo and video assets from events, collaborations, photoshoots, and UGC creators, ensuring files are properly downloaded, renamed, uploaded, sorted, and stored in their proper folders
Photoshoot Support
- Support the planning and execution of photo and video shoots, helping coordinate
schedule
s, preparing shot lists, layouts, props, products, talent, and other production needs.
- Assist on set with setup, styling, product handling, shot continuity, and other day-of production needs to keep shoots organized and on schedule.
- Coordinate with the socials, design, and photography teams to ensure shoot assets are captured according to the brief and delivered for social, paid, and other content needs.
Required
- Exceptional written English. Not "good communicator" — actual editorial precision. You notice when a sentence is wrong and you can say why.
- Writing and editing samples: social copy, a brief, something long enough to show you can structure an argument. If you have edited other people's work, show us before and after.
- A large, current portfolio of social videos you personally edited. Not a showreel of three polished pieces, we want to see variety and range with links to where they ran.
- Comfort with a style guide, and the instinct to build one where none exists.
- Organised to the point of being slightly relentless. Chasing late deliverables and filing rights paperwork is a real part of this job and it does not chase itself.
- Self-shooting ability — phone or camera, natural light, usable audio.
- A strong creative eye and passion for content creation — you understand the brand’s style, but know how to adapt it for trends, timely topics, and relevant conversations online.
- Someone who likes people. The community inbox is the front door of the brand and it is answered in a human voice.
Preferred
- Instagram- and TikTok-native — you understand what makes content work on social, how creators turn ideas into engaging pieces, and what’s trending and changing across platforms
- Basic video or design skills — comfortable making simple edits, statics, and social assets in tools like CapCut or Canva.
- Comfortable on camera.
- Food, beverage or wellness experience, and awareness of what you can and cannot claim.
- An interest in matcha, tea, Japanese craft, or education-led brands.
