About the role

This role will see you as part of a growing Australian accounting firm specializing in taxation and business advisory services. Their clients range from individuals and small businesses to established privately-owned enterprises across Australia. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional client service, technical expertise, and practical tax solutions. As part of their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Intermediate Accountant to join our offshore team in the Philippines. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with Australian accountants and gain further exposure to Australian taxation and compliance.

About the Role

You will be responsible for preparing financial accounts, tax compliance work, bookkeeping, and business activity statements for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically competent, and comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparation of Australian business and taxation compliance work
  • Preparation of individual income tax returns
  • Bookkeeping and account reconciliations
  • Preparation and lodgement support for BAS (Business Activity Statements)
  • Working with cloud accounting software including Xero and MYOBReviewing financial data and identifying discrepancies
  • Assisting senior accountants with client compliance and advisory work
  • Maintaining accurate and organized client records
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian tax legislation and accounting standards
  • Skills & Experience
  • To be successful in this role, you will have: Minimum 2 years' experience in a public practice accounting firm
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and taxation concepts
  • Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
  • Proficiency with Xero and/or MYOBExperience with bookkeeping and BAS preparation
  • Experience preparing individual income tax returns
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Australian taxation legislation is highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
