Developmental Editing Officer - Early Childhood Education

The job incumbent is primarily responsible for overseeing the content development process by leading the team and ensuring the highest quality standards, accuracy, completeness, and timely completion and submission of manuscripts endorsed to the department for validation.

Key responsibilities

• Identifies and recommends the qualifications and requirements of outsourced talents needed for the assigned project
• Ensures that the skills, qualifications, and competencies of talents endorsed by the TMO are aligned with the established requirements of the project
• Onboards outsourced talents by providing clear guidelines on the project specifications, processes, standards, and timelines for content development
• Collaborates with content creators and contributors and makes final decisions on content quality standards and issues related to manuscript concepts
• Validates manuscripts and ensures compliance with the established standards, guidelines, and requirements of the company and the respective Business Unit
• Oversees the end-to-end content development process, ensuring adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and project timelines
• Ensures the timely completion and delivery of all tasks and activities throughout the content development process
• Addresses and resolves content-related issues and concerns within the prescribed turnaround time
• Ensures proper documentation and records management of all project-related files and outsourced talent documents
• Conducts post-project evaluations to assess the effectiveness and outcomes of each content development project and identify areas for improvement

About you

• Preferably a Master's degree in Education or a degree related to the assigned learning area
• At least five (5) years of experience in educational publishing
• At least three (3) years of experience as a Developmental Editor, Instructional Material Evaluator, or in an equivalent role
• Advanced knowledge of developmental editing, content editing, and language editing
• Strong understanding of content development processes, quality standards, and instructional material evaluation
• Familiarity with the DepEd K–12 Curriculum and relevant educational standards and

requirements
