This is your opportunity to work with Australian businesses, handle complex payroll requirements, and build deeper expertise in Australian payroll and compliance — all while working permanently from home.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGYou'll be responsible for managing payroll from start to finish, ensuring every employee is paid accurately, every deadline is met, and every payroll complies with Australian requirements. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple Australian clients

• Manage payroll from onboarding to offboarding, including final pay and employee entitlements
• Interpret Modern Awards and employment agreements
• Ensure compliance with:PAYG Withholding

Superannuation

• Single Touch Payroll (STP)Payroll Tax
• Fair Work requirements

ATO requirements

• Process leave, overtime, allowances, deductions, and other payroll adjustments
• Prepare and distribute payslips and payroll reports
• Prepare ABA payment files
• Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with month-end reporting
• Respond to payroll queries from clients and employees
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date payroll records
• Work closely with bookkeeping and accounting teams on payroll-related matters
• WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO...Has at least 2 years of payroll experience
• Preferably with an Australian accounting firm, bookkeeping practice, or multi-client environment. Knows Australian payroll
• You understand the legislation, compliance requirements, employee entitlements, and the details that can make or break a payroll. Can interpret Modern Awards
• You don't simply follow instructions — you understand how employment conditions affect payroll. Is comfortable with payroll systems
• Hands-on experience with Xero Payroll, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks is highly preferred. Can handle multiple clients
• You know how to prioritize, stay organized, and meet payroll deadlines without compromising accuracy. Has exceptional attention to detail
• Because in payroll, even a small error matters. Can work independently
• You take ownership, solve problems proactively, and don't need to be chased for updates. Communicates professionally
