IT Data Engineer (Can join in 2 weeks or ASAP)

• Location: Makati City, Metro Manila
• Work Setup: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH) | Day shift
• Employment Type: Contractual (6-month initial contract, potential for absorption or extension based on performance)
• Availability: Start within 2 weeks or ASAPWhat we're looking for
• Proven experience (3+ years) working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role involving data pipeline development and database management

Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQLHands-on experience with big data technologies and tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or similar platforms

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes and data warehousing solutions
• Solid understanding of database systems (both relational and NoSQL) and experience with platforms like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Preferred: Experience with machine learning pipelines, real-time data processing, or business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BIPreferred: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as GitKey responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources
• Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and data quality
• Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop and implement data validation frameworks and quality assurance protocols to ensure data integrity and consistency
• Optimise database queries and data processing workflows to improve system performance and reduce operational costs
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to maintain uptime and reliability
• Document data architecture, processes, and procedures to support team knowledge sharing and organisational continuity
• Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices, recommending improvements to existing systems
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement data governance, compliance, and security measures
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards and best practices
