About the role

At Symbos, we believe great employee experiences start with thoughtful, well-organised people processes. We combine empathy, collaboration and technology to create a workplace where people feel supported from day one.

About the Client

This is an internal role within the Symbos People & Culture team. You will work closely with employees and internal stakeholders to keep onboarding, documentation and compliance activities accurate, timely and well coordinated.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a People & Culture Compliance Associate to support onboarding administration, employee records, compliance tracking and government document coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to detailed processes, following through on requirements and helping employees navigate what they need to complete.

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Be part of the employee experience from the beginning of each new hire’s journey.
  • Build practical experience across onboarding, compliance, records and government coordination.
  • Work in a role where accuracy, responsiveness and reliable follow-through make a visible difference.
  • Contribute ideas that improve day-to-day People & Culture processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding requirements for new employees.
  • Collect, review and track employment documents before commencement.
  • Maintain complete and accurate employee records across approved systems and files.
  • Track mandatory documents, policy acknowledgements and other compliance requirements.
  • Support the preparation, submission and tracking of government and statutory documentation.
  • Coordinate with employees, government agencies and service providers regarding required information.
  • Prepare standard People & Culture letters, certificates, forms and related documentation.
  • Respond to routine employee enquiries and provide updates on outstanding requirements.
  • Maintain onboarding and compliance trackers, prepare status reports and flag overdue items.
  • Support background checks, offboarding documentation, audits and process improvements as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least one year of experience in People & Culture or HR administration, onboarding, employee services or a related coordination role is preferred.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up respectfully on outstanding actions.
  • Sound judgement and care when handling confidential employee information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • A collaborative, service-minded approach and willingness to learn.

Nice to Have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience handling employee documents, records or compliance trackers.
  • Exposure to government documentation, statutory requirements or agency coordination.
  • Experience using people systems, HR systems, applicant tracking systems or employee databases.

Who This Role Suits

This role will suit someone early in their People & Culture career who is dependable, organised and comfortable working with detailed requirements. You take ownership of follow-ups, communicate clearly and understand that accurate records and timely documentation are essential to a positive employee experience.

Application Process

If this opportunity aligns with your experience and interests, please submit your updated CV. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by the Talent Acquisition team regarding the next steps in the selection process.
