POSITION PURPOSE
The Education Counsellor will part of the Cebu team. He/she will work with the Student Placement Team Lead, Area Manager and with the Marketing team in identifying opportunities to grow the AU/NZ and MD market.
The core purpose of this Counsellor is to guide students on their study abroad plans, whilst providing exemplary customer service throughout the counseling process to meet and exceed the individual and team target; actively participate and engage in Marketing-led lead generating events, exhibitions, and promotions for IDP and its partner institutions; and establish good relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Business Acumen and Customer Service
- Provide counselling services and information to customers (students and/or parents) on assigned country destination’s education system
- Provide accurate, efficient and quality service throughout the counseling process that exceeds customer’s expectation
- Attend to students’ queries quickly and professionally
- Attend to students’ complaints tactfully and professionally
- Promote and encourage customers to avail related services and products (Student Essentials)
- Represent IDP in promotional activities like exhibition, road shows, and mobile counselling
Client Relations and Business Development
- Develop knowledge on IDP clients
- Develop good rapport between students and clients
- Ensure good conversion of students for clients
- Provide local support services e.g. school visits, appointments, etc. when needed
- Maintain friendly & professional relationships with all stakeholders including universities/institutions and students
- Attend to clients engaged in Interview programs and Counsellor Briefings
- Assist at marketing events as assigned
Quality of Work and Results-orientation
- Accuracy of information
- Ensure that the contact details of the clients are accurate and updated when there are changes
- Maintain a good student database for follow up
- Good rapport and follow up with students
- Achieve individual volume targets
- Propose process improvements as applicable
Technical and Professional Knowledge
- Competent knowledge of assigned country destination’s education system / culture, life style and geographic region / of university courses and careers outlook
- Competent knowledge of migration rules & regulations
- Utilize the correct procedures in SAM/C4C for recording student data, generating and completing documents/forms
- Possess relevant computer skills
- Take ownership of problem and seeks timely solutions
Teamwork
- Embrace with the team the common goal of achieving set targets throughout the pipeline, with strong focus on Applications and Finalizations
- Commit to a consistent coordination with the Student Services team and instill a team-based work culture
- Be available to assist when other colleagues are busy or not available
Communication, Organization, and Planning
- Good communication skills to liaise with students and client institutions
- Active listening to customer/client inquiries
- Communicate ideas, directions, or advice clearly and, where required, comprehensively
- Regular communication with the Student Services Team Lead and Area Manager on Pipeline updates.

What We're Looking For
- Must be a Filipino citizen
- Preferrably Experienced Education Counsellor in any of the following destinations - Australia, New Zealand, US
- Fresh Graduates may also apply
- Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of education institutions admission processes, immigration requirements and their international operations.
- Fluent in English
- Experience of working in a sales driven environment with a strong focus on achieving individual and team based targets.
- Outstanding communication skills and able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders with varying needs (students, parents, institution representatives, colleagues etc.).
- Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Customer focused, with a passion for providing outstanding service.
- Highly effective relationship building and relationship management skills.
- Effective team worker, supporting colleagues and contributing positively to overall team’s success.
- Ability to proactively identify, analyse and solve problems effectively.
- Sound judgement and the ability to make decisions and act with integrity, in the best interests of IDP.
- Strong IT skills – Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems.
- Experience of working with a CRM system.
- Experience of education counselling.
