About the role
About us
We are an Australian company operating three brands
The Leadership Institute (www.theleadershipinstitute.com.au)— a B2B events and professional development business running 10–15 conferences and leadership summits across Australia and New Zealand.
Prism & Pearl (prismandpearl.store) — luxury moissanite and sterling silver jewellery. Premium, elegant, understated.
Brio & Bloom (brioandbloom.com.au) — sensory toys and comfort products for children with diverse needs. Warm, calm, reassuring, aimed at parents. Newly launched, so there is real scope to shape how it looks and sounds.
About the role
We are seeking a Video Editor and Social Content Creator to own video across all three brands — from concept and script through to final edit.
This is a creative role, not a production one. We are looking for someone who works autonomously, brings their own ideas, and improves briefs rather than simply executing them.
The role covers both short-form and long-form video. That combination is deliberate, and it is the most important thing to understand before applying.
The three streams of work
- Short-form social — the bulk of the work today
Concept, hook, script and edit for reels and paid social across Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and LinkedIn. Speaker highlights, event promotion and thought-leadership clips for The Leadership Institute; product-led reels and paid ads for Prism & Pearl and Brio & Bloom.
- Content library — cutting our conference archive into standalone pieces
We hold years of recorded footage from our summits: keynotes, panels and executive interviews. We want it turned into a structured library of standalone, publishable pieces that we can offer to our audience.
This is long-form editing on real-world source material. It means working with multicam recordings, repairing audio captured in live conference rooms, applying consistent branding and lower thirds across hundreds of files, and keeping an organised, findable library as it grows.
It is also where the two halves of this role meet: the archive is long-form source material that produces short-form output, and we expect the same person to see both opportunities in the same footage.
- Podcast — launching for The Leadership Institute
We intend to launch a podcast tethered to The Leadership Institute. When it starts, you would own the episode edits: multicam or two-camera assembly, audio-first mixing, chapters and YouTube-ready delivery, plus cutting each episode down into short-form clips.
This stream does not exist yet. We are telling you now because we want someone who can grow into it rather than someone we would need to replace when it launches.
The balance
Today the work is roughly 70% short-form, 30% long-form. As the content library builds out and the podcast launches, we expect that to move toward an even split.
We need someone genuinely capable of both. A brilliant reel editor who cannot sustain a 40-minute edit will struggle here, and so will a documentary editor with no feel for a three-second hook. If you are strong in one and competent in the other, tell us honestly which is which — we would rather know.
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated short-form work: reels, short-form ads and social video across different brands and audiences
- Demonstrated long-form work: anything sustained over ten minutes — interviews, podcasts, webinars, documentary, event recordings
- Audio ability. Conference and interview audio is rarely clean. You need to be comfortable repairing dialogue recorded in live rooms — noise reduction, levelling, and knowing when audio cannot be saved and the cut has to change instead
- Multicam editing and syncing
- Consistency and file discipline across a large, growing library
- An AI-assisted workflow, with judgment about when to use it and when not to. For short-form specifically, we are interested in AI voiceover and synthetic voice, auto-captioning and subtitling, auto-reframing to vertical, and script and hook drafting. We also want to hear about AI clip-selection tools that pull short cuts out of long recordings, because that is directly how we intend to work through our conference archive
- Concept, hook and script writing — you own the idea, not just the assembly
- Availability within our working window
Software: Premiere Pro, Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve, plus a dedicated audio tool such as Audition, Auphonic or equivalent. Motion graphics ability (After Effects or similar) is a strong advantage.
Why this role is worth your time
This starts at 20–30 hours per week. The content library alone is a substantial long-term project, and the podcast will add ongoing weekly work on top of the social output.
For the right person there is significantly more work here than the starting hours suggest, and we would rather grow one person into it than keep hiring.
How to apply
A portfolio is essential. Applications without one will not be considered. We want range, not just your best individual piece — short-form and long-form, B2B and B2C.
- Your portfolio. Short-form reels and ads, plus at least one long-form edit of ten minutes or more.
- Pick one of our three brands, look at what they are currently doing, and pitch us a reel concept. A few sentences — the hook, the story, why it works for that audience. This is the question we care most about. We want to see how you think when nobody is briefing you.
- Your longest edit. What was it, what was the source material, and what did you do about the audio?
- How do you use AI in your video work? Which tools, at what point, and what you still do yourself. Include AI voiceover — and when you would choose not to use a synthetic voice.
