About the role

Key Responsibilities1. General Ledger and Accounting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts. Record and review daily accounting transactions in the accounting system. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions, reclassifications, and adjusting entries. Ensure that all transactions are properly classified and recorded in the appropriate accounts and cost centers. Review supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization. Ensure proper account coding and approval of expenses. Maintain accurate accounts payable records. Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies. Monitor outstanding payables and assist with payment scheduling. Prepare accounts payable aging reports when required. Coordinate with purchasing and other departments regarding invoice and payment issues.3. Accounts Receivable

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts. Investigate and resolve differences between bank statements and accounting records. Maintain the company's fixed asset register. Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and other fixed asset transactions. Assist with periodic physical verification of fixed assets. Maintain appropriate documentation for additions and disposals.9. Expense and Cost Control

Review employee expense claims and other company expenses for completeness and compliance with company policies. Verify appropriate approvals and supporting documents. Ensure expenses are properly classified by account, department, project, or cost center. Assist management in monitoring expenses and identifying unusual transactions. Support cost-control initiatives through accurate and timely financial information.10. Internal Controls

Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify accounting errors, control weaknesses, and unusual transactions. Assist in implementing improvements to accounting processes and controls. Maintain proper segregation of duties and approval procedures. Ensure accounting documents are properly authorized and retained. Support internal and external audits by providing requested records and explanations.11. Audit Support

Assist in preparing financial analyses and special reports requested by management. Support budgeting and forecasting activities as required. Participate in accounting process improvement projects. Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliation where applicable. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties reasonably assigned by management. Maintain professional relationships with internal departments, customers, suppliers, auditors, banks, and other external parties.
