Your Role

As an AU Financial Accountant, you are responsible for:Analyze and interpret financial data beyond basic processing to deliver clear, actionable operational insights. Partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders, clearly communicating financial concepts to support business alignment. Prepare targeted financial reports and cost/sales analyses that directly guide executive and operational decision-making. Monitor business metrics, identify operational risks early, and independently follow up with stakeholders to resolve issues. Own the accounts inbox, including the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and payments

• Run the daily and weekly sales reporting and commentary
• Own the month-end and year-end close process including balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare timely, accurate monthly financial reports and analysis, and help pull together performance reporting for leadership
• Prepare compliance reporting including BAS, PAYG, Payroll, Superannuation Payroll Tax and Work

• Prepare data analysis to support commercial decisions
• Qualifications: Ideally CA qualified, with solid post-qualification experience in a hands-on accounting role
• Confident across the full month-end cycle and Australian compliance (BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Payroll, Superannuation, Work

• Strong reconciliation and general ledger skills, with an eye for detail and a love of clean books
• Comfortable in a fast-paced growing business with an ability to draw commercial conclusions from broad data sources
• A clear communicator who can translate finance for people who don't live in spreadsheets

Ideally experience with cloud based Retail/Ecommerce systems such as Shopify, CIN7 Core, Xero and DEXTExperience in retail, e-commerce or an omni-channel business is a bonus

• Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, not just process it; Strong communicator with experience liasing with non-finance stakeholders
• Experience preparing data and reporting that supports business operations
• Understanding of how numbers impact the business and ability to take initiative and be proactive in following up with relevant stakeholders where necessary

Self-starter who flags potential risks, brings practical recommendations, and acts without waiting for direction. End-to-end finance experience covering transactional operations (AP/AR, recs) through to financial accounting. Skilled in ad-hoc analysis—comfortable digging into numbers to uncover and explain the "why" behind trends. Thrives in lean or small-business settings, comfortable wearing multiple hats and rolling up sleeves to execute.
