About the role
Assistant Accounting Manager to support the Accounting Manager in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on general ledger reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance. As part of a growing retail startup, this role requires a detail-oriented accounting professional who can help build strong processes and controls as the finance function scales.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general ledger (GL) reconciliation, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all financial records
- Manage accounts payable (AP) processes, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, and payment runs
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and statutory reports, ensuring compliance with BIR regulations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Review payment requests and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audit
requirements
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve accounting and reconciliation concerns
- Review and guide the work of junior accounting staff
About you
- Retail industry and/or FMCG background required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, with direct exposure to GL reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and taxation
- Working knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and statutory compliance

- Proficient in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Excel
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving business environment
