The Qualifications We Seek

Essential Experience & Skills

At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands-on experience in delivering and maintaining frontend and backend production systems

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with practical experience in Next.js
• Strong understanding of responsive UI development, state management, and API integration

Strong proficiency in Python and practical experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3Strong ability to design and debug REST APIsProven hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or similar tools in real-world software development

• Ability to provide context, guide implementation, debug issues, and critically review and test AI-generated code
• Experience integrating LLM APIs into applications, with an understanding of unreliable model outputs, error handling, and confidential data protection
• Strong knowledge of Git and code review practices
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions, Jest, React Testing Library, and pytest

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Mantine, Auth0, AWS Amplify, Post
• Hog, Docker, Yarn, and uv
• Experience with PDF processing, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector search
• Experience evaluating AI output quality, latency, and cost
• Experience with LLM tool calling, structured outputs, conversational or voice interfaces, and partner system integrations
• Familiarity with PHP, Kirby CMS, SCSS, and jQuery for occasional work on existing systems

Your Daily Tasks

Design, develop, and maintain responsive and accessible interfaces using TypeScript, React, Next.js App Router, Redux Toolkit, CSS Modules, and Mantine components

Build reusable frontend components and integrate customer, staff, and partner workflows with secure, well-documented REST APIsDevelop Python backend services on AWS Lambda using API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Secrets Manager to deliver reliable serverless applications

Build and enhance AI-powered document analysis and conversational features, including PDF processing, LLM API integration, and structured model output validation

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and legal colleagues to clarify requirements, make pragmatic technical decisions, and deliver features across the stack
• Write meaningful automated tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain GitHub Actions delivery pipelines
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications on AWSUse AI coding tools throughout development, debugging, testing, and code review
• Verify AI-generated code and retain responsibility for its correctness, security, and maintainability
• Improve application performance and reliability
• Use logs and product analytics to investigate issues and understand user behavior

Protect customer and document data through robust authentication, authorization, input validation, secure secrets management, and careful handling of AI tool context

Support existing PHP and Kirby CMS systems as required
