Qualifications
Essential3-5 years of relevant Australian accounting or bookkeeping experience. Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft 365Ability to learn new systems, processes, and account portfolios quickly
- Capacity to work effectively and calmly under pressure while managing competing deadlines and high transaction volumes
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate within a team, follow directions, and adhere to established review and quality-control processes
Preferred
- Experience in strata, owners corporation management, or property services
- Exposure to strata or insurance management software
- Familiarity with insurance or insurance premium funding arrangements
Responsibilities
Daily Accounting and Transaction Processing
Perform bank reconciliations for strata or owners corporation scheme accounts and insurance or funding company accounts. Process supplier invoices and owner payments accurately within agreed deadlines. Prepare electronic payment runs for review and approval by the Team Leader. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including following up on outstanding balances. Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records for client accounts. Compliance and Reporting Support
Process client compliance obligations under supervision, including BAS and IAS lodgements, superannuation, payroll tax, and Work
Cover requirements. Support month-end and year-end reviews of financial accounts. Provide Strata Managers with data and reporting inputs for annual budgets and financial statements. Client and Internal Support
Respond to internal and external accounting queries promptly and professionally, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the Team Leader. Communicate clearly and professionally with Strata Managers, committees, and owners regarding routine account matters within the role's scope. Liaise with auditors and external accountants regarding routine information requests as required. Systems and Continuous Improvement
Use Xero, internal strata management software, and internal insurance management software accurately and consistently. Identify and report opportunities to improve processes, quality, and efficiency to the Team Leader. Complete ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks as directed. About the Client
