Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Australian Senior Accountant with a strong background in public practice to manage end-to-end accounting, taxation compliance, and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate brings comprehensive knowledge of Australian tax legislation, expertise with local compliance requirements (ATO), and hands-on experience in day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliation, and financial analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities

Taxation & Compliance

Prepare and review Australian income tax returns for Individuals, Companies, Partnerships, and Trusts.

Prepare, calculate, and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).

Handle calculations and statutory compliance for GST, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and Payroll Tax.

Ensure timely lodgement of tax returns and compliance obligations with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), acting as a key point of contact for ATO inquiries.

Financial Reporting & General Ledger Maintenance

Prepare complete, accurate financial statements and supporting workpapers in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.

Conduct general ledger reviews, month-end/year-end balance sheet reconciliations, and depreciation

Process bank and corporate credit card reconciliations, track costs, and perform discrepancy follow-ups.

Assist in producing income statements, balance sheets, expense reviews, and payroll record checks for corporate financial reporting.

Operational Accounting & Administration

Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) vendor payments, Accounts Receivable (AR) invoicing, and credit control/collections.

Create and upload payment files to online banking systems.

Support annual insurance renewals and ad-hoc finance/admin tasks across departments.

Assist with specialized operational tasks, such as uploading construction budgets and job claims.

Identify and contribute to process improvements across team operations.

Qualifications & Required Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Certifications: CPA Australia (or CA / equivalent professional qualification) highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of public practice accounting and taxation experience in Australia.

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, ATO compliance, and Australian Accounting Standards.

Portfolio & Sector Experience: Proven success managing a portfolio of Australian clients across industries such as Construction, Engineering, Healthcare, Professional Services, Real Estate, Retail, Logistics, or Manufacturing.

Work Set-up

• On-site: Clark Pampanga
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Fixed weekends off)
