About the role
Accounting Specialist IIIAbout the role
You handle the day-to-day accounting for a group of growing US clients. Reconciliations, categorization, and month-end close are familiar ground for you. What sets this role apart is how much of the work is yours to run. You follow documented close workflows and complete the bookkeeping assigned to you, then review your own work before it reaches the senior accountant. Where the process calls for judgment, you are trusted to use it. You also communicate with clients directly, in your own words, with guidance from your client manager. Nimbl provides the departments a business needs to scale — accounting, tax, technology, global talent, and strategic finance — all under one roof. With 100+ team members across the U.S., the Philippines, and Latin America, we operate as one aligned team serving ambitious business owners. Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for your assigned clients: AP, AR, bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and transaction categorization
- Balance sheet accounts tied to
schedule
- s, where discrepancies are researched and resolved, not only flagged
- Month-end close and management reports, including our more complex client accounts
- The staff review at close: bringing together everything you have entered during the month and reviewing it yourself before it reaches the senior accountant
- Direct client communication without set templates, guided by your client manager
- You write and maintain process documentation for the tasks you own. Simple to advanced cleanups, with some direction
- Depending on the client engagement, your work may also include: Creating and sending client invoices
- Entering vendor bills and preparing payments for approval
- Preparing payroll for review and processing
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, or a related course. Being a CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required. At least 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping or general accounting experience. Experience with US-based clients is a strong advantage. Solid QuickBooks Online skills. Familiarity with Bill.com, Gusto, or similar tools is a plus. Comfortable working with both cash basis and accrual basis accounting
- Excellent English communication, both written and spoken
- Strong attention to detail
Reliability with deadlines. Close dates and client deliverables are met when promised, and when something looks like it might slip, you raise it early rather than after the fact. Comfortable asking questions when something is unclear instead of assuming, and consistent in following through on review
note
sNice to have: sales tax filings, multi-entity or multi-client handling, book cleanups, and any experience using AI tools in an accounting workflow. We are actively building that into how the team works.
