About the role

We work with some of Australia’s most recognised retail and consumer brands, developing and delivering campaigns across extensive store networks and a wide variety of retail environments. Projects may include window displays, entry moments, visual merchandising spaces, fixture graphics, wall bays, promotional zones, fitting rooms, point-of-sale displays, freestanding units, packaging, signage and almost every physical customer touchpoint within a retail environment. This is primarily an execution, rollout and finished-art role. The successful candidate will bring strong graphic design judgement, exceptional technical artwork skills and a detailed understanding of how campaign graphics are applied within physical retail spaces. Conceptual design capabilities are valuable but secondary to the ability to accurately develop, adapt and deliver approved campaigns at scale. The role requires someone who can work autonomously and at pace, manage a high volume of artwork variations and maintain outstanding accuracy across every file, format, site and store application. Responsibilities

Multi-Site Rollouts & Layout Adaptation

  • Adapt approved master concepts across hundreds of store formats, tiers (flagship, premium, standard, regional), and footprint sizes.
  • Interpret store-by-store distribution lists, rollout matrices, fixture

  • Manage CMYK, Pantone, spot-color workflows, color management profiles, image resolution (DPI), scaling, bleeds, trims, crop marks, and safe zones.
  • Set up technical print specifications including overprint, trapping, rich black, transparency, white ink layers, blockout layers, and contour/cut layers. Dielines & Structural Artwork:
  • Apply artwork accurately to supplied cutter guides, dielines, knifelines, and structural templates.
  • Prepare production artwork for packaging, display boards, FSDUs, counter units, plinths, vinyl graphics, and fabricated 3D retail structures.
  • Check panel joins, sightlines, folds, seams, orientation, and critical graphic placement before releasing files. Quality Assurance & Production Documentation:
  • Audit all artwork for correct dimensions, typography, spacing, image quality, copy accuracy,

  • Prepare annotated artwork packs, material/substrate specs, finishing specs, and installation orientation

  • Action client feedback from marked-up PDFs, spreadsheets, and revision reports consistently across all affected assets. Workflow, Automation & File Systems:
  • Maintain strict file hygiene, folder structures, and version control for all production archives.
  • Build clean, structured InDesign master files using master pages, paragraph/character styles, linked assets, data merge, smart objects, and batch-processing scripts.
  • Utilize approved AI and automation tools responsibly to accelerate workflow speed, image retouching, and repetitive artwork processes. Requirements

Experience: Minimum 5+ years as a Finished Artist, Prepress Graphic Designer, or Production Designer in physical retail, large-format print, packaging, or print management environments. Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat Pro (Preflight/Proofing tools). Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of print substrates, fabrication processes, dielines, elevations, floor plans, color management, and prepress standards. Mindset & Attributes: Obsessively detail-oriented, organized, fast, calm under tight campaign deadlines, and highly accountable for final print output. Communication: Strong written and verbal English skills; confident in asking clarifying questions on ambiguous specs. Desirable / Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with InDesign automation (data merge, scripting), batch production, or AI-assisted image workflows.
  • Basic motion-design capability (Adobe After Effects) or screen-based digital display setup.
