Shopify / Wordpress Web Developer

We are looking for a hands-on Web Designer / Ecommerce Website Specialist to design, build, update, and maintain ecommerce and marketing websites across Figma, WordPress/Elementor, and Shopify.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design and can take a website concept, mockup, or existing brand direction and turn it into a polished, responsive website.

This role combines web design, page building, ecommerce implementation, and front-end troubleshooting. You should be comfortable working independently from design through implementation while maintaining consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Key Responsibilities

• Design website pages, sections, landing pages, and ecommerce layouts in Figma.
• Translate Figma designs accurately into live websites.
• Build and edit websites using WordPress, Elementor, and Elementor Pro.
• Build and customize Shopify storefronts using Shopify's theme editor and page-building tools.
• Create visually polished homepages, landing pages, product pages, collection pages, blog layouts, and supporting website pages.
• Maintain consistent typography, spacing, colors, imagery, buttons, and brand styling across websites.
• Improve existing website layouts based on design direction, references, or provided mockups.
• Create responsive designs that work properly across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Configure Shopify products, collections, menus, metafields, sections, and basic store functionality.
• Manage WordPress and WooCommerce pages, products, menus, plugins, and site content.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot common Shopify apps and WordPress plugins.
• Make minor HTML and CSS adjustments when visual builders cannot achieve the required result.
• Troubleshoot layout issues, responsive problems, spacing inconsistencies, and front-end display issues.
• Optimize pages for usability, visual hierarchy, user experience, and ecommerce conversion.
• Work closely with marketing and ecommerce teams to implement promotions, campaigns, banners, landing pages, and site updates.
• QA website updates before publishing and ensure designs match approved layouts.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Figma for website and UI design.
• Strong experience with WordPress and Elementor / Elementor Pro.
• Strong experience building and editing Shopify websites.
• Strong understanding of web design fundamentals including typography, spacing, alignment, visual hierarchy, color, responsive layouts, and mobile-first design.
• Ability to translate Figma designs into functioning websites accurately.
• Comfortable modifying existing website designs rather than only creating websites from scratch.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Understanding of Shopify themes, sections, blocks, products, collections, and navigation.
• Understanding of WordPress themes, plugins, WooCommerce, and Elementor structure.
• Ability to troubleshoot front-end design and responsiveness issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines and design specifications accurately.

• Basic experience with JavaScript or Shopify Liquid is beneficial but is not the primary focus of the position.

• You should be able to receive a design request, reference website, Figma mockup, or general creative direction and independently turn it into a polished website experience.
• The ideal candidate understands that web design is not simply about making pages look good. Designs should also be functional, responsive, easy to navigate, and appropriate for ecommerce and marketing objectives.
• You should be comfortable moving between Figma, Elementor, WordPress, and Shopify throughout the day and solving visual or implementation issues as they arise.
