• UX/UI Designer — Remote (Philippines) | Premium Baby Care E-Commerce

Job Type: Full-time, Independent Contractor Location: Remote — Philippines only Schedule: Monday–Friday, with at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific Time

About the Role

We are a US-based e-commerce company in the premium baby and infant care space. Our customers are parents who read every ingredient label, compare certifications, and expect the same care from a website that they expect from the products they put on their baby's skin.

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer who can translate that standard into clean, trustworthy, high-converting digital experiences — product pages, landing pages, email templates, and the everyday design work that keeps a growing DTC brand moving.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You will work directly with the product lead and our Shopify developer, with real ownership over what ships.

What You'll Do

• Design and iterate on Shopify storefront pages: homepage, collection pages, product detail pages, cart, and checkout flows
• Build high-converting landing pages for new product launches, paid campaigns, and seasonal promotions
• Design responsive layouts mobile-first — the majority of our traffic is mobile
• Create email and lifecycle templates (Klaviyo or similar) that match the brand system
• Produce web-ready assets: banners, icons, infographics, comparison charts, ingredient and certification callouts
• Maintain and extend a design system — components, type scale, color tokens, spacing rules — so the brand stays consistent across every page
• Prepare clean handoff files and specs so developers can build without guesswork
• Use analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings to identify friction points and propose UX improvements
• Support A/B tests on layout, copy placement, and CTA design, then design the follow-up based on what the data shows
• Occasionally support adjacent design needs: social creative, packaging mockups, and sales-channel assets

What You Need

• 3+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, with at least 1 year on e-commerce or DTC brands
• A portfolio showing real shipped web work — not only concept pieces or dribbble shots
• Expert-level Figma: components, variants, auto layout, prototyping, and organized developer handoff
• Strong grasp of responsive and mobile-first design principles
• Working knowledge of Shopify's structure and constraints (sections, blocks, theme limitations)
• Solid visual fundamentals: typography, hierarchy, spacing, and restraint
• Understanding of conversion-focused design — you can explain _why_ a layout performs, not just that it looks good
• Written and spoken English strong enough for async written communication and video calls
• Reliable high-speed internet, your own computer, and a quiet place to take calls

Nice to Have

• Experience with baby, beauty, skincare, wellness, or clean-ingredient brands
• Basic HTML/CSS literacy — enough to know what's expensive to build
• Motion design or short-form video editing (After Effects, Premiere, CapCut)
• Experience designing for paid social and Google Shopping assets
• Familiarity with Klaviyo, Figma variables, or design-token workflows
• Accessibility awareness (WCAG contrast, tap targets, readable type)
