Job Overview
We are seeking two detail-oriented Property Accounting Clerks to support day-to-day property-level accounting operations. While one team member may primarily focus on accounts payable and the other on accounts receivable, both employees must be capable of supporting both functions to provide coverage and operational flexibility. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, processing transactions, performing reconciliations, maintaining tenant ledgers, and investigating accounting discrepancies while working closely with the Property Accounting Supervisor / Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day property-level accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process vendor invoices and bills for approval and payment.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities and maintain accurate tenant ledgers.
- Review and reconcile vendor accounts.
- Perform general bank and account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Support the monthly financial close process.
- Maintain accurate and organized property-level accounting records.
- Work closely with the Property Accounting Supervisor / Controller to support accounting and reporting requirements.
- Provide accounts payable and accounts receivable coverage as needed to ensure continuity when another accounting clerk is unavailable.
- Maintain flexibility to support either AP or AR responsibilities based on business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy is required.
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Property management or real estate accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with Yardi is preferred.
- A CPA license is not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within established accounting processes and workflows.
