Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join Theo-Pam Trading Corp. in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of our organisation. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is integral to supporting our finance team and contributing to the overall financial health and strategic decision-making of the company.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Recording and posting daily financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and expense claims

• Reconciling bank statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy
• Preparing financial statements, trial balances, and other financial reports for management review
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and adjusting entries
• Maintaining organised financial documentation and ensuring proper filing and archiving of records
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Assisting with payroll processing and benefits administration as required
• Identifying and reporting discrepancies or irregularities in financial records
• Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and clarify transactions

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting certification or qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with strong data entry and numerical accuracy skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation regulations relevant to the Philippines
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative finance team
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to stakeholders
• Integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
