About the role

The HR Generalist (In-House Payroll & Benefits Focus) manages core HR operations with master-level ownership over manual payroll computation and total rewards. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and processing internal payroll spreadsheets from scratch—translating complex attendance logs, multi-tiered tax calculations, and statutory deductions into flawless salary payouts. Key responsibilities

Compute gross-to-net pay manually—including complex structures like variable overtime rates, night differentials, holiday premiums, retro-pay, and prorated salaries

  • Calculate precise statutory contributions and recurring company loan deductions using exact manual matrices
  • Manually compute full and final settlements, tax corrections, and clearance payouts for exiting employees
  • Manually prepare, reconcile, and file monthly contribution and loan reports to government portals
  • Serve as the hands-on administrator for private HMO and life insurance plans, ensuring timely manual tracking of employee movements
  • Conduct regular self-audits of internal payroll ledgers to find and fix errors before releasing bank advice
  • Manage employee profiles from onboarding setup to offboarding clearance documentation
  • Serve as the transparent point of contact for employees, readily explaining line-by-line manual tax adjustments, deduction breakdowns, or attendance disputes
  • About you3 to 5 years of HR Generalist experience, featuring at least 2+ years of handling end-to-end, manual in-house payroll processing
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration
  • Expert Microsoft Excel Skills: Absolute mastery of nested formulas (IF, IFS), lookups (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), pivot tables, and conditional formatting
  • Intimate, working familiarity with local labor laws, minimum wage orders, and tax brackets
  • Hyper-Meticulousness: An extreme attention to numerical detail; a natural knack for spotting math discrepancies or data anomalies immediately
  • Ability to remain sharp, organized, and focused while working under tight, uncompromising cut-off deadlines
