As an AU Tax Assistant Manager Pod Lead, you'll help establish a new Pioneer team dedicated to the firm and take ownership where technical expertise meets people leadership. You'll review complex work, guide your pod across engagements, develop team capability, and engage with Australian clients and stakeholders while building your own international leadership credentials.

Job Overview

• Full-time | Day Shift | Weekends Off

• The Qualifications We Seek4 to 5 years of Australian Public Practice Accounting experience
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing Australian financial statements, tax workpapers, and income tax returns
• Experience managing SME and mid-market client portfolios with AUD5M-100M+ annual turnover
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation, accounting, compliance, and regulatory

requirements

• CA-qualified or currently pursuing CA, supported by a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated technical tax expertise, commercial judgment, and analytical problem-solving capability
• Experience supporting trusts, partnerships, foreign subsidiaries, private businesses, and other complex entity structures
• Strong communication, coaching, stakeholder management, and team leadership capabilities

The Daily Tasks

Lead Your Pod

• Take ownership of day-to-day delivery across a dedicated team of Australian accounting and tax professionals
• Set clear priorities, coordinate workloads, and maintain consistent quality across concurrent engagements
• Coach team members through technical guidance, constructive review, and ongoing professional development
• Help establish effective ways of working as the Pioneer team grows
• Own Tax & Accounting Delivery
• Manage Australian tax, accounting, and advisory engagements from planning through completion
• Review financial statements, tax workpapers, income tax returns, and supporting deliverables for technical accuracy
• Provide guidance on Australian taxation, accounting, compliance, and client-specific technical matters
• Maintain high standards across deadlines, documentation, risk, and engagement quality

Strengthen Client Partnerships

• Oversee engagements involving SMEs, private businesses, trusts, partnerships, foreign subsidiaries, and small listed entities
• Build credibility with Australian clients and stakeholders through responsive, commercially informed communication
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery, resolve issues proactively, and strengthen long-term client relationships
