The Qualifications We Seek

Required

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience3 to 5 years of experience developing business intelligence solutions, data models, dashboards, or analytics products

• Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including Power Query, DAX, data modeling, report design, and workspace or deployment practices
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience integrating data from enterprise systems, spreadsheets, flat files, APIs, and other structured sources
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear metrics, meaningful analysis, and compelling data visualizations

Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with stakeholders at different levels

Preferred

Qualifications

Experience with SAP procurement or materials management data, procurement card data files, spend analytics, supplier management, contract management, or category management

• Experience with GPO, cooperative purchasing, benchmarking, or consulting partner data
• Experience in a university or similarly complex academic environment with decentralized purchasing and multiple client groups
• Experience preparing executive dashboards, portfolio reviews, or quarterly business reviews
• Familiarity with data governance, role-based access, source control, testing, and release management for business intelligence solutions
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Dataverse, or related modern data platforms

Your Daily Tasks

Data Model and Source Integration

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable data model for procurement and supply chain analytics
• Integrate and reconcile SAP purchasing data with internal procurement card data and relevant external sources
• Develop practical approaches to incorporate data from GPOs, purchasing aggregation groups, and consulting partners

Define common dimensions, hierarchies, business rules, and measures for suppliers, categories, commodities, contracts, departments, portfolios, transactions, and savings opportunities

Document source-to-report lineage, data definitions, refresh

Power BI Development and Analytics

Create and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports, dashboards, and measures using Power Query, DAX, and established visualization practices

Build an enterprise analytics tool that supports macro-level analysis, portfolio breakouts for five business partners, and transaction-level drill-through where appropriate

Develop analytical views for spend analysis, supplier performance, contract utilization, purchasing compliance, category opportunities, price variance, sourcing activity, and other agreed-upon KPIsOptimize data models and reports for performance, usability, security,

Business Partnership and Quarterly Business Reviews

Collaborate directly with five business partners to understand portfolio priorities, define requirements, and translate business questions into meaningful and actionable analysis

Prepare recurring portfolio reports and quarterly business review materials that communicate performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and recommended follow-up actions

• Provide ad hoc analysis to support sourcing decisions, supplier discussions, budgeting, policy decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Train users on dashboards and promote accurate interpretation and effective use of procurement data
• Data Governance, Quality, and Security
• Establish validation checks and reconciliation processes to ensure reported information remains accurate, complete, timely, and fit for decision-making
• Apply organizational standards for data governance, access control, information security, privacy, naming, and documentation

Collaborate with SAP, Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, procurement card administrators, IT, and external data providers to resolve data issues and improve source quality

• Monitor data refreshes, troubleshoot data, model, and report issues, and communicate impacts and resolutions to stakeholders
• Protect sensitive purchasing and supplier information and comply with applicable organizational policies and contractual
