Accountant

Menzi and Co. Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team on a full-time basis in Makati City, Metro Manila. This role is essential to our financial operations, providing accurate financial accounting and reporting that supports informed decision-making across the organisation. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. What you'll be doing

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and general accounts
• Recording and reconciling financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards
• Conducting account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulatory requirements
• Supporting the audit process by providing documentation and explanations as required
• Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Maintaining organized financial documentation and filing systems
• Collaborating with other departments to resolve financial queries and issues

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification
• Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS or local equivalents)
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional certification such as CPA is a must
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation and regulatory requirements is preferred
