Assessment Development Specialist (Science)

Rex Education is seeking an Assessment Development Specialist (Science) to join our growing team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and validating high-quality science assessments that measure learner outcomes and support educational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive assessment tools that align with curriculum standards and effectively evaluate student knowledge, skills, and competencies across various science disciplines. Your work will directly impact the quality of educational delivery and learner achievement within our programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop science assessment instruments
• Ensure assessments align with curriculum standards, learning objectives, and industry best practices in science education
• Conduct validation studies and statistical analysis to ensure assessment reliability, validity, and fairness across diverse learner populations
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and curriculum specialists to review and refine assessment content and format
• Create detailed assessment blueprints and scoring rubrics that clearly define learning outcomes and grading criteria
• Develop marking guides and assessment administration instructions to ensure consistent implementation across programmes
• Review and analyse assessment data to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to assessment tools
• Stay current with developments in science education assessment methodology and incorporate innovative practices
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of assessment development processes and outcomes
• Provide support and training to educators on assessment administration, data interpretation, and quality assurance procedures

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications in assessment, educational measurement, or curriculum development are preferred. Experience in assessment development, educational testing, or curriculum design within formal or workplace training environments

• Strong knowledge of science education content across multiple disciplines (physics, chemistry, biology, or earth sciences)
• Demonstrated expertise in assessment design principles, including item writing, test construction, and rubric development
• Proficiency in psychometric analysis, statistical methods, and assessment validation techniques
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and assessment software platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex assessment concepts clearly
• Strong project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple assessment development projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality assessment materials
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes and continuous improvement methodologies
• Familiarity with educational standards frameworks and competency-based assessment approaches
• Experience in workplace training and assessment contexts is advantageous
