InDesign Layout Expert - Contractor

Labrador Information Transparency Philippines, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remote Layout Expert to join our team on a individual contractor basis. This is remote role and offers an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic field of Editing & Publishing within corporate disclosure industry. As a Layout Expert, you will be responsible for transforming creative concepts into visually compelling and professionally formatted publications. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that all published materials meet our high standards for visual presentation, readability, and brand consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute professional page layouts for various publishing projects, including magazines, brochures, newsletters, and digital publications
• Collaborate with editors, designers, and content teams to understand project requirements and creative vision
• Utilise industry-standard design software and layout tools to create visually appealing and functional designs
• Ensure all layout work adheres to brand guidelines, style standards, and quality specifications
• Manage typography, imagery, and white space to optimise readability and visual hierarchy
• Prepare files for print and digital publication, ensuring proper formatting and technical specifications
• Review proofs and make revisions based on feedback from stakeholders and editors
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining strict attention to detail and meeting deadlines
• Stay updated with current design trends and layout best practices in the publishing industry

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Layout Designer or Layout Expert, ideally within publishing, media, or advertising sectors
• Advanced proficiency with industry-standard design software, such as Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong understanding of typography, colour theory, and design principles
• Excellent eye for detail with the ability to identify and correct design inconsistencies
• Solid knowledge of print specifications, file formats, and pre-press requirements
• Experience working with both print and digital publications is a plus.
• Outstanding time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into compelling visual layouts
• A portfolio demonstrating previous layout work and design expertise is highly desirable
