Intermediate Bookkeeper (Morning Shift)

About the Role: Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an Intermediate Bookkeeper who is ready to take responsibility for a client portfolio, work closely with senior team members, and take pride in delivering an exceptional client experience. You’ll manage a broad range of bookkeeping responsibilities in a fast-growing business, working closely with the team at Liston Newton Advisory Bookkeeping. You’ll look after a portfolio of clients, including the employer’s group of 6+ entities, ensuring work is accurate, on time, and aligned with best practice, with guidance from senior team members on more complex matters. This role suits someone who thinks ahead, exercises sound judgement, knows when to ask questions, and maintains strong attention to detail. You’ll be comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, able to re-prioritise confidently throughout the day. Strong written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate in a small, supportive team. Working closely with Maria (Head of Bookkeeping) and Jane (Offshore Bookkeeping Supervisor). In this role you will be: Bank reconciliations

• End-to-end payroll and super
• Monthly and quarterly BAS preparation
• Monthly reporting (P&L, balance sheet, etc.)Accounts payable and receivable
• Payroll tax preparation

Journal entries

• Asset register maintenance
• Assisting with onboarding new clients and documenting their processes when required
• You’ll also support advisory work such as: Payroll audits
• Xero conversions and set-ups
• About You: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field3–5 years’ experience in Australian bookkeeping, including exposure to managing your own client portfolio
• Sound working knowledge of payroll awards and award interpretation
• Experience preparing BAS, P&L, cash flow, balance sheet reports, and payroll
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and MYOBExperience with Asana, Deputy, Hubdoc, and other add-ons (desirable)
• Ability to learn new software and processes quickly
• Exceptional attention to detail

• Strong communication skills and work ethic; comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Highly organised, with strong planning and prioritisation skills
