Role Description The Healthcare Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Cebu, supporting patients and clinical staff in day-to-day healthcare activities. The role involves assisting with basic patient care, such as helping with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and comfort, while following established care plans and instructions from licensed healthcare professionals. The Healthcare Assistant will help with safe manual handling of patients and equipment, maintain cleanliness in patient areas, and support the smooth flow of daily operations. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and recording basic observations, reporting changes in patient condition to supervising staff, and adhering to all health and safety protocols and infection control procedures. The role requires effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues, and a respectful, empathetic approach to diverse patient needs.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong patient care skills, including basic nursing assistance, personal care support, and attention to patient comfort.
• Candidates should possess safe manual handling skills, including proper techniques for lifting, transferring, and positioning patients and equipment.
• Candidates should possess good interpersonal skills, including clear communication, empathy, teamwork, and the ability to work respectfully with diverse individuals.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of health and safety principles, including infection control, hygiene standards, and adherence to clinic or hospital protocols.
• Candidates should possess basic knowledge of medicine and clinical procedures relevant to healthcare assistant duties, and be willing to follow guidance from licensed professionals.
• Relevant vocational training or coursework in healthcare, nursing assistance, or caregiving is preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical, hospital, or caregiving setting is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, maintain confidentiality, and uphold ethical and professional standards in patient care.
